How to order your new bicycle

A guide to ordering your new bike from Cyclefit

Step 1. Call, email or drop-in.

To speak with one of our Cyclefit Technicians. We can discuss bike and frame options and/or make an appointment for you to have a look at the bikes on display.

Step 2. Book your Cyclefit appointment *

This is where we find your best riding position and make the frame and component recommendations. We build a quote for you so you can see the exact specification and price of your new bike.

For the past two decades we have adhered to the very well grounded and successful theory that every bike we sell (stock or custom) should be preceded by a thorough Cyclefit. We are leaders in the world of bike fitting and can ensure that any rider we see is set up correctly on a 'stock' geometry bicycle; but our speciality is the design and building of custom bicycles. Custom building a bicycle around an individual cyclist enables us work at our highest possible level.

We put every client and their cycling dream at the heart of every project.

Our custom clients are consistently our happiest clients. Their bikes never, ever date, even after 100,000 miles.

* Happy with your current position?

Step 3. Bike Design and Component selection

The final measurements taken from the Fit Bike and the XY co-ordinates generated (these are the measurements that relate the bottom bracket to the saddle and handlebars) provide us with the data required to design your frame. We walk you through the many component choices and wheel options matching the equipment to the frame and selecting the correct length stem, bars and cranks to balance your ride; fast handling and racy or more stable on descents, whichever you prefer or anywhere in between. Road, gravel, all-roads, touring or a combination of all!

For stock frames please go to Step 7.

Step 4. Custom frame design sent to the builder

We send the initial frame design and finish details to your chosen frame builder and liaise with their designers, fine tuning the tube specification for suppleness and stiffness and balancing the geometry. The tubing used is based on your weight and how supple you would like the bike to feel on the road.

Step 5. Frame draft returned for sign-off and order

A few days later we receive the confirmed frame design form with the detailed geometry, tube specification and frame finish. Once you are happy with everything we place your order in to the build queue.

"Fit was millimetre perfect and like getting on an old friend. Took a 5mm torque key and didn’t even use it ! First impressions were fab - tons of grip on the tyres, super brakes, lighter, real spring in the frame, lots of range on gears, mudguards a blessing. It’s a real magic carpet ride, super comfortable. It’s a big step forward over classic Indyfab, as I wanted. Thank you so much, feel very privileged to get all your collective expertise and lucky to get the bike given the difficulty to get parts and frames"

What our clients say

  • "I'm new to cycling so needed some support on finding a bike that would be right for me. Julian couldn't have been kinder or more supportive, he took time to find out what I wanted from my cycling and then looked closely at my physical structure to ensure that the bike is a comfortable fit for me. It really is a 5 star service and far exceeded my expectations."

  • "Hey Julian and Phil, I hope you are both well. I just completed a 21 hour week on my new 165mm cranks and I am in love. They feel so so great! Thank you for all your help. I’ve never felt so comfortable on my bike before. All the best, Hannah"

    Hannah Barnes

National Champion / Professional Bike Rider

  • "I tried the shorter cranks today and I like them - it feels like it's less stress for the back and it seems easier to ride higher cadence. In the end I had a good Tour with no back problems. Thanks for your help!"

    Bauke Mollema
  • "A different level of professionalism! Super friendly and they really cared."

    CB

    Regular cyclist

  • "The personal service from both Phil and Julian is second to none. They have such a wealth of experience in fitting that they can almost tell at a glance if something is just a little off. It felt as though it didn't matter how long it took to get the best position possible - even for an amateur cyclist like myself. Can't recommend them enough."
