Abbe's Re-Set Special
We love an extreme brief. Our mission - should we decide to accept it - was to to build the ultimate come-back bike for returning athlete, Abbe. The criteria were audacious and irresistible:
- The bike must scream FUN from every angle
- It had to fit perfectly from the off
- The position would track Abbe as she gets progressively fitter and stronger
- The electric motor should be intuitive, tunable and progressive
- The bikes's brain should create clear athlete/motor metrics - who is doing what and when
- A road-bike that could seamlessly segue off-piste if necessary
- And why not create a one-off style-statement. For a while at least. This is a bike that will be imitated
Challenge accepted.
"The bike must scream FUN from every angle"
Mission Accepted
Abbe's bike absorbed and pushed us hard. Barna probably spent more time on Abbe's custom-build than any other bike we have put together at Cyclefit. The Cyclefit told us where Abbe should be on the bike. Abbe selected the aesthetics she wanted on Trek Project One and Barna went into action matching bespoke components to function:
- Changing drop to riser-bar
- Devising flat-bar-shifter solution
- De-coupling shifting from bike's battery/motor loom
- Shortening crank
- LDY saddle
- Flat pedals
