John loves riding up mountains - especially the Stelvio - and he wanted a light bike with excellent braking in all weathers. He has had a Parlee for a decade and more recently an Alchemy custom frame. He opted for Trek as their huge R&D budget enables them to build the lightest and strongest carbon frames currently avaibale. Surprisingly, given that the Emonda SLR is very light and strong it is also very comfortable due to how the carbon is laid up in the mould. the slim seat stays will cushion the rider and the narrow waisted top tube offers enough flex to reduce any jarring on bumpy roads.
John's trek is a custom Project One farme and painted in Deep Dark Blue Vapour Coat (£1,100.00) he built his bike with SRAM's wireless eTap groupset and used Bontrager's tubeless ready Aeolus XXX4 wheelset (1500g). Handlebars and stem are by Enve Composites.
