If you ever plan to move to a remote part of Scotland and want to ride all year and in all weathers then the Seven Axiom SL with mudguard braze-ons has to be the number one choice. This finely tuned frame is assembled with Seven's own double butted in-house tubing to fit its owner perfectly and ride comfortably. The geometry is designed to fit the Enve AR Fork, handling is stable and confidence inspiring.
We opted for the Shimano Ultegra mechanical gearing as the bike will be a long way from a bike shop should the gears need tuning; we did embrace the hydraulic brakes though, that's a no brainer.
Barna built the wheels using DT Swiss 240 hubs on his favourite Stan's No Tubes Grail rims. The tyres are 30mm Schwalbe Pro One's grippy, puncture resistant and they roll really well.
The finishing kit is by Fizik, a sensible aluminium combo and classy.
The front mudguard comes with the Enve forks, the rear mudguard is by SKS in matt black to match.
