Tom's bike is a classic road rim brake bike as they are now known with Shimano's new Dura Ace Di2 R9150 groupset. The carbon handlebars, stem and seatpost are supplied by Enve; the carbon rimmed wheels are Mavic clinchers with Continental GP4000 25mm tyres. Pedals are by Shimano and we used the version with the 4mm longer axle to suit Tom's stance width and pedalling style.
It was possible to tell how good this bike would ride when I pushed it outside to take the photos, the road vibration was dampened through the frame before it reached my guiding hand and the bike was completely silent as it dropped off a curb or clipped a pot hole, the 622slx rides as good as it looks. No need for fat tyres to mask the discomfort of a stiff carbon frame, the 622slx absorbs the unwanted punishment from the road and still gives you enough feedback to know what you are riding on.
"Just a quick review of my Seven 622slx: it’s awesome! Three significant improvements over the bike i’ve been riding the last 6 years. First, there has been a huge improvement in the performance of the Dura-Ace Di2. Putting aside the semi-automatic function, which is cool, changing gears is much cleaner/crisper (not sure what the proper way to describe this is!). Second, the ride is incredibly smooth. From the minute I pulled away from the shop, I couldn’t believe how much less vibration I was feeling. Sweet! Third, the fit is terrific. Though I had taken advantage of your cyclefit service to improve my riding position on my last bike, the fit on the Seven is incomparably better. For the first time ever, I feel well positioned for both maximum power transfer and comfort. In sum, I love the bike! Thank you so, so much!!!"
