The Trek Domane uses the H 3 geometry platform and is positioned in the Trek road range as an endurance/all-roads bike. H3 provides the rider with a slightly higher and closer handlebar for a more upright riding position. The frame also incorporates an Isopseed decoupler in the seatmast and head tube (SLR models only) to insulate the rider from the road bumps.
The Domane SLR is available in H 1.5 geometry (the same as the Madone) option when ordered through Project One. Sizes 54cm- 60cm available as these are the frame sizes used by the Trek Segafredo Team.
Longer chainstays, a low bottom bracket height and longer front centre make the Domane a very comfortable and stable ride. Even though it is very comfortable, the frame is 30% stiffer laterally than the competition so efficiency and climbing ability isn't lost.
All the 2020 models are equipped with disc brakes and internal cable routing and a storage compartment in the down tube.
There are two frame platforms, the SLR and SL built from 700 series and 500 series OCLV (Optimum Compaction Low Void) carbon, the SLR 700 carbon frames are lighter and a little stiffer. The SLR Domane has an adjustable rear Isospeed suspension, it is a carbon leaf spring under the top tube that can be adjusted with a small slider. The SL Isospeed is not adjustable and works perfectly well.
The Domane SL and SLR frame can accommodate tyres up to 38mm wide so it can be used on gravel trails and has mudguard eyelets to fit full mudguards for all-weather riding. Road tyres up to 36mm wide can be used with SKS Bluemells 45mm mudguards.
The SL models get you a brilliant bike with good quality components, if you want the bees knees the SLR models have similar and higher spec equipped bikes, they are available in colour options and also through Project One for custom paint finishes and the opportunity to spec different wheels, powermeters and most importantly we can select the correct size components that work best for you.
Trek Domane SLR9
Trek's flagship Domane equipped with Shimano Dura Ace or SRAM Red AXS eTap groupset and Bontrager Aeolus XXX4 wheels. The bar and stem are Bontrager carbon.
Trek Domane SLR 7
The Domane SLR7 model is available with Shimano's Ultegra Di2 groupset or SRAM's Force AXS eTap groupset. the wheels are Bontrager's Aeolus Pro 3V, OCLV Carbon. They have an internal width of 25mm so work better with wider tyres than the XXX4 wheels on the SLR 9. Bars and stem are Bontrager carbon. All of Trek's carbon wheels have a two year crash damage replacement cover, find out more here.
Trek Domane SL7
The Domane SL7 has the same Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset as the SLR 7 and the same Aeolus Pro 3V wheels but will alloy bars and stem for £1,100.00 less. Single paint finish and not available to order through Project One. We can exchange parts like stems, saddles and handlebars to dial the fit, there is a small surcharge to exchange the chainset if required to optimise crank length.
The SL7 is the most popular bike at Trek HQ in Milton Keynes.
Cyclefit recommends this bike with the SRAM groupset so there are only two cables visible at the front, much cleaner. If you wish to upgrade to a Quarq powermeter it is £535.00 and integrated in to the existing powermeter.
Trek Domane SL6
The Trek Domane SL6 is the most popular model at Cyclefit; it is equipped with Shimano's ever reliable Ultegra mechanical groupset providing reliable and smooth gear shifting and easy maintenance. All the SL doamnes are assembled with 34 tooth (or 33 tooth if SRAM) cogs on the cassette to provide one to one gearing for hilly rides.
The wheels are Bontrager Paradigm Comp, they have an alloy rim with an internal width of 25mm and are tubeless ready.
The complete bike weighs in at 9.3kg just over one kilo more than the SLR9 and a third of the price!
The Domane SL6 is available in Gloss/Matt Trek Black, Crystal white and Radioactive Red/Trek Black.
Trek Domane SL5
Shimano's 105 groupset keeps the cost down on this SL5 and is decidedly better and will out last the Tiagra groupset on the SL4.
